DIPLOMA: UNIVERSITY EDUCATION IN ENGINEERING

Nowadays, a university education professor's profile sets up that their task is not only to lecture and examine students, but mainly to encourage the development of creative knowledge, to teach self-regulation and control strategies upon their students' learning process. That is, to get them learn how to learn, how to think and self-evaluate themselves. This way, the engineer-professor must be prepared to guide and motivate students so that they rebuild, go over, interpret, question and confront their knowledge with other kinds of knowledge and thus be able to apply it to new situations.

Likewise, within the framework of the various initiatives promoted at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, all of which account for a sustained process of improving the quality of students' education, a number of actions focused on teaching and syllabus innovation and on the use of information and communication technologies (Icts) applied to teaching have been fostered.
In that sense, the Faculty of Industrial Engineering has settled to create a perfecting proposal for the engineering area' professors, which stands for a global effort to achieve an improvement and a great opportunity for the academic community to engage in active participation.
The present report presents the grounds for the Diploma in University Education in Engineering studies, the professional and academic profile required, as well as the curriculum design, syllabus, courses compilation, teaching staff and budget.

Provide knowledge and skills necessary to deal with reliability and efficiency challenges the practice of university teaching places on the field of engineering.

University professors in the field of engineering interested in improving their teaching strategies in engineering education. As engineers and related professionals who wish to move into university teaching.

Classes will take place in three modules of study, including expository sessions complemented with supporting materials and lectures, training in the form of e-learning workshops and implementing instructional and learning resources.

Curriculum Design

Organization, production and transmission of knowledge. Strategies and processes related to improving teaching and learning. Strategies and curriculum design skills.

Basic Principles. Development axiological, ethical and aesthetic in teaching and scientific production and research.
